Location
This property is located approximately six miles southeast of Tucumcari, New Mexico year round access by county maintained paved and graveled road.
Tenure
The property is 188.4 +/- total acres. Of the total acres, 112.8 +/- acres have Arch Hurley Conservancy District surface irrigation water rights. www.archhurley.org .
Farm Operation
There are four fields on the property, two circles with a 4 tower pivot on each and two fields that are irrigated by gated pipe that are fed by gravity flow. The east circle is 30 acres +/- and is planted in 3-year-old Alfalfa that produced 150 tons in 2007. The west circle is also 30+/- acres and is a mixture of older Alfalfa and Jose Wheat Grass.
The field west of the home has been in Wheat and Hay grazer in the previous years, which was grazed then baled for hay. It is currently cultivated and should be ready for planting for the 2008 summer. The field immediately south of the home is planted in Jose Wheat Grass.
Soil Types
Soils on the property are fine sandy loams, loam clay loam, and clay. The east pivot consists of a fine sandy loam that is up to 15 inches in depth and a permeability rate of 2-3 inches per hour. The other fields consist mostly of clay soils that are up to 60 inches in depth and have a permeability rate of less than a ½ inch per hour. These fields also have some fine sandy loams occurring in them.
Irrigation
There are 112.8 Arch Hurley irrigation surface rights. The water is distributed from the Savage Lateral. A Detroit diesel motor furnishes water for the pivots and provides the power for the pivot systems. The remaining fields are irrigated by seven inch gated pipe, which the water is furnished by 10, and 12-inch underground pipe. www.archhurley.org .
Improvements
HOME, The residence is a five-year-old house consisting of 1872+/- sq. ft. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath. The house has central air/heat as well as a wood stove. The water is RAD city water.
There is a 50x80-hay barn with a 20x20-shop combination. Attached is a three bay car / equipment shed. The facilities are constructed of pipe, steel trusses, and metal roof within the past five years. There is a set of corrals constructed of pipe for working livestock.
